About Fun-tivities
  • Hi there Meet the Founder

My name is Jovia. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to work with children. I just didn't know what it was that I was going to do with them. Some years back I had a dream and that is when the idea of Fun-tivities was born.

I dreamt that I was taking a group of people around  a facility that had children in different rooms and the children were engaged in different kinds of art and craft activities. In the dream, I didn’t know what the facility was but I knew it was mine. Just before the dream ended, I saw a banner come up and on it were written the words, “Children’s Art Center.”

The first thing I did when I woke up was to google “children’s art centers” and a number showed up but they were mainly in America, Europe and South Africa. That is when I decided that I was going to open up one in Uganda.  The dream was an answer to my prayer from God because I had prayed to Him to show me what I could do with children. Fun-tivities is therefore a God-given answer to my prayer and I cherish it dearly.

I love seeing the smiles on children’s faces while they are engaging in our activities. That is what drives me to keep Fun-tivities going.  I have grown to love art because of what I do and I love the fact that it is a way of expressing yourself and it also enhances creativity.

I am married to Ronald  and we have 3 daughters and they are all supportive of Fun-tivities and love participating in setting up and even engaging in the activities. My children are part of Fun-tivities because I normally try out most of the activities with them to get a feel of how they will be received by other children.

    • I love children. And here I met another woman who loves children like me. Ready to give her all. And this dream still lives for the harvest is still great.
